Six months in the making, and I just want to finish this! Any help is much appreciated. The big question: Why are a few of my sound fx missing on my dvd when played on a tv, when it plays fine in avid, and plays fine on the dvd when played on my macbookpro? Is there a reason a QT that has been mixed down would not work properly in Compressor? After successfully getting it then into dvd studio pro, and burning out to dvd, upon watching there were a few sound fx missing coming from my tv.

After importing the Audio Mix down version of the film into compressor I tried DVD Best Quality again only to have it fail over and over. From compressor, I exported 'Dvd Best quality' to Dvd which used Dolby digital 2.0 for the audio. Went through the entire process again, thinking this may solve my problem of not being able to hear a few (but pertenent) sound fx, but ran into many problems in Compressor. Part 2: I did an audio mixdown in avid and reexported to a qt. The MPEG 2 Elementary stream exported fine, but upon trying to import into DVDSP it says Incompatable Format? So- Instead of using the "Dvd Best quality" from Compressor I tried MPEG-2 Elementary Stream with AIFF. (No?) But it was Dolby digital 2.0 out of Compressor (L and R channel correct?) So question 1 is why can I not hear certain fx through my tv, but I can when I watch the dvd on my laptop. If it was a 5.1 surround mix I would first think it wouldn't play all the channels on a clunky tv, thus being the problem. (is it worth mentioning I am in Korea and could be a compatablity issue?) I then watched the same dvd on my macbook pro and all the audio info was heard. From compressor, I exported "Dvd Best quality" to Dvd which used Dolby digital 2.0 for the audio.

I successfully did so by exporting "same as source" to a qt file, then importing into compressor. I am simply trying to put my hd project onto a sd dvd. Hello, and thanks in advance for your time.
